Director Stage

The Director Stage node opens a 3D stage. Place cameras and virtual characters, adjust the framing, then take a screenshot to lock the frame into an image as a reference for later generation.

What the 3D stage is for

The director stage helps when you need precise, repeatable composition rather than leaving camera position to luck: set up the camera and subjects in 3D first, then capture the composition as a reference image for generation.

Basics

  • Drag objects in the scene to move them; V switches to the move tool;
  • X toggles grid snapping;
  • T (top) / Y (front) / Q (reset) switch between preset views;
  • Group / ungroup: ⌘/Ctrl + G, ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + D, for managing several objects in the scene;
  • Delete the selected object: Delete or Backspace; undo: ⌘/Ctrl + Z.

AI staging import and screenshots

  • AI staging import (paid) builds a staging from a reference image, added to the current scene or replacing it;
  • Screenshot saves the current frame to that camera's Camera shots list; a screenshot taken in the free view also creates a camera;
  • Select a shot and click Send to canvas to turn it into an image node on the canvas, linked to the director stage node so its source is traceable;
  • The stage saves into the node's settings automatically; no manual save needed.
