Smart Cut
The Smart Cut node is a multi-track timeline editing container. It opens a full-screen editor to join, layer and export several clips into one finished video.
Opening the timeline editor
Add a Smart Cut node from the Add node menu (marked Beta), or select a video node and click Smart Cut (multi-track) on its toolbar. Link the media you want to combine into the node, then open it to enter the full-screen timeline editor.

Multi-track editing
The editor is a multi-track timeline. Common actions (shortcuts work inside the editor):
- Play / pause preview: Space;
- Split the clip at the playhead: ⌘/Ctrl + B (B alone switches to the blade tool, S toggles snapping);
- Delete the selected clip: Delete or Backspace;
- Undo / redo: ⌘/Ctrl + Z, ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + Z; ⌘/Ctrl + S saves a version;
- Drag a clip to move it, snap it or reorder it on the same track; drag a clip's edge to trim its length;
- Esc closes the open menu or clears the selection; ? opens the shortcut list.
Export
In the Export film menu at the top right of the editor, first adjust the output settings (format MP4 / WebM / GIF, quality, bitrate, cover, range, audio), then pick where to export:
- Export to local: downloads to your computer when rendering finishes;
- Export to canvas: appears on the canvas as a new node when rendering finishes;
- Export audio only: exports just the timeline's sound.
Export project (XML) in the same menu hands the timeline to another editing app. A gap in the timeline with no media only shows a notice and never blocks export; the header also has a one-click Close gaps.
